Eat the view has been lobbying for this for months ( maybe longer.) Michelle Obama, and a fair amount of staff I would guess. Will plant a White House Vegetable Garden. Hurray! As a country we need to grow more food locally, we need to have a better understanding of how things grow and how our environment affects our food, we need to get out more, we need to know that supermarket tomatoes do not taste anything like their garden grown counterparts. YAY! Less lawn = less water usage, fewer pesticides and the bonus of great tasting food. This is the first large scale White House garden since Eleanor Roosevelt's victory garden.
