and now for something completely different.  This boy rocks my world everyday of the week. He's funny and insightful and naughty and all goodness. This year he decided to combine two of his favourite things.  Lizards and Costumes,.  the boy does love to dress up.  Auntie Jane made the breastplate, cape and tail.  I made the crown.  He's been promised gauntlets for hallowe'en.  There were green confetti and lizard filled lizard eggs, costumed party guests, wooden wands with lizard tail fabric, goblets to decorate and cake to eat. Chocolate lizards in little grass cups to take home. Cake designed by the birthday boy and  sworn over by Mama and Dada.  Much late night  swearing to get that giant fencing lizard onto the cake.

Much fun was had and a remarkable boy was duly celebrated.  It was a wonderful day.

.King Lizard Castle cake.  The cake itself is lime, with lime curd and chocolate ganache.  The panels are homemade  green tinted white chocolate bars.  Poured blue sugar moat with dry ice.  The King himself is made of rice crispie treats covered in tinted white chocolate. That was one tasty lizard.

Of course, there had to be a bubbling cauldron.  That is my great grandmothers cut crystal punch bowl.  What else am I ever going to use it for.
